About
Dr Zoe Whitby
Based in Newcastle upon Tyne I practice in person and remotely across the North-East region and beyond. I am passionate about developing holistic, creative and flexible support to meet my clients' needs.
​
I have a Doctorate in Applied Educational Psychology, a PGCE, a MSc in Psychology, a BA (Hons) and over 20 years experience of working in education.
I have worked across a range of settings and contexts including mainstream and specialist schools, alternative provisions, children's homes, virtual schools and as part of multi-agency and multi-disciplinary teams.

I am HCPC registered.



What we offer
Consultation
Consultation supports collaborative working towards developing a shared understanding of a young person's needs or situation . A consultation model supports the development of meaningful outcomes and effective planning to meet them.
Consultation can take place at an individual level, or at a group level including parents and carers and key adults involved in supporting the young person and as part of a multli-agency or multi-disciplinary approach.
Assessment
Working with individuals from the early years upwards we carry out assessment of needs tailored to the individual. This can be through consultation, observation, dynamic assessment, play-based assessment, and through the use of a wide range of standardised assessments, feeding back via consultation and/or written report.
Intervention
Delivery of bespoke and evidence based interventions at an individual and group level, working with children, young people, families and school staff. Examples of interventions include:

Supporting educational organisations to develop their practice and capacity to meet the needs of the children and young people in their care and their staff.
This can be through facilitating school or service development planning using psychological frameworks such as P.A.T.H. (Planning Alternative Tomorrows with Hope), through an auditing of training based on staff development needs in relation to the learning cohort or through bespoke research projects.
Supporting EHCP Processes

Supporting schools to gather information to inform individual assessment requests.
Working for Local Authorities carrying out comissioned statuatory assessment work.
Access Arrangements
​
Carrying out assessment in schools and other educational settings to support applications for examination access arrangements following JCQ guidelines.
Supervision
​
Offering supervision for staff in schools and other professionals across education, both at an individual and group level.
